hidayah : certain people says syukran jazilan.. others say jazakillah..and im not sure what is barakallahu fik? why dont just say thank you.. isn't it more easier?

khaleed : i was waiting for you to ask, nice question sister ! actually syukran jazilan means thanks a lot to the person a.k.a thank you very much..where else as a muslim, we dont owe our thanks to a person, we thank Allah.. so our preferences should be jazakallahu khairan

hidayah : oh.. so this mean if you are saying jazakallah, i will have to reply jazakallah too?

khaleed : oh sister.. jazakallah means may Allah reward you and we dont know if the reward is good or bad..it is important to say khairan at the back as you are making du'a may Allah reward you with blessings/kindness.. referring to your second question.. if a person du'a/say jazakallahu khairan , we reply or respond a du'a barakallahu feek which means May Allah bless you..
